MRCI-CDS provides administrative and payroll services for Personal Support and Respite. The Personal Support and Respite programs are exclusively staffing, and are funded through the Minnesota Developmental Disability Waiver. Under these services, MRCI-CDS is able to function as the Employer of Record for the workers an individual wishes to hire: MRCI-CDS provides payroll services and withholds, files and pays federal and state employment taxes, and furnishes employee with a W-2.
MRCI-CDS administers this program under the 245D section of statute for the State of Minnesota. Due to these regulations, workers are required to take a set of training at the time of hire and on an annual basis. All of these trainings occur through Direct Course, an online training system. Direct Course is a great tool for training staff. Since the trainings are available online, workers have the option of listening, reading and/or watching videos may be part of the training material. A short quiz will follow and staff will have unlimited chances to pass the quiz. Once the quiz has been completed, MRCI-CDS will receive the results and will pay staff for their time. Time is allocated by Direct Course for each training session.
In addition to Direct Course, DHS requires workers to have additional training related to MRCI-CDS policies as well as DHS policies. These are required reading for all Personal Support and Respite Staff. If you have questions please contact your CDS Customer Service staff member.
